EVENTS

Here you will find events that are either hosted by the District Attorney’s office or the MCCC that are connected to our mission.

Multi-Cultural Justice Leadership Awards

Every fall, the MCCC organizes a Multi-Cultural Justice Leadership Awards Luncheon, which honors those who live or work in Yolo County and showcase extraordinary leadership in multi-cultural judicial fairness in any of five categories: administration of justice, faith based communities, public schools, human services, or community work.

From single individuals to large agencies, nominees and winners come from all walks of life, backgrounds, and experiences. What ties them all together is their commitment to improving Yolo County’s relationships and understanding around the criminal justice system and cultural awareness.

Youth Leadership Academy

One of our ongoing goals is to help educate high school students in our community by engaging in conversation and education around the criminal justice system. This multi-day academy is designed for students to learn about the different fields in the criminal justice system and learn about the importance of community involvement. Students will hear from and participate in discussions with leaders in local government, non-profit organizations, law enforcement, members of the judicial system and victims of crime.

Community service hours to meet school credits will be given at the end of the Academy. Attendance on all days is mandatory.
